The list of scheduled trips below remains a work in progress and reflects mostly weekend trips. Other trips are ad hoc and announced via the BRV email list.

For more about BRV's excursions, please see the club's trip guidelines.

Mid-week trips:

  • The Thursday Paddlers are an informal group of DC area boaters that was led many years by Steve Ettinger.  Their trips are now coordinated by a handful of boaters, and they frequently lead several trips a week from March/April to October/November, "whenever water and weather conditions are suitable.”
  • To request being added to their email list, contact Alf Cooley (703-442-7935). Thursday Paddlers’ trips are now coordinated by Alf, Ron KniplingTim Tilson, Barb BrownMiki Komlosh,  Gus Anderson, Bob Maxey, John Snitzer, and Mark Brenneman . Stay tuned to their email to see who to get in touch with to hook up for particular midweek trips.

"To know where they're going, please get on their weekly mailing list - by contacting Alf or Tim, who will reply with a Welcome note with details of how the outings work and a weekly set of trip notices thereafter."

  • Wednesday evening paddling on the lower Potomac: CCA's Michael Baummer coodinates trips most weeks from Anglers to Lock 10, or at Little Falls or Violette's Lock. To participate, email Mike or call him at 703-521-8334.
  • Also stay tuned to BRV emails whenever there's water in fun places.
